Employee Assistance Counselling - Employees

For employees

Congratulations for seeking support. We are keen to help. There are 4 pathways to receiving counselling from us. 

  1. If you work for an employer which has an employee assistance program that allows you to confidentially self-refer, (that means seek counselling without them knowing who you are), we need the contact details of the relevant person in your organisation who can confirm your eligibility and for how many sessions. This could be your human resource officer, workplace health and safety officer, or manager. It is different in different organisations. We make this enquiry without providing your name and find out what they want you to provide us as proof of employment. Complete the employee contact form below. 
  2. If you work for an employer which has an employee assistance program that allows you to self-refer but requires approval by someone within the organisation, please request that person email us at peacemakerpsych@bigpond.com so we can confirm eligibility and number of sessions.
  3. If your employer does not have an employee assistance program, you could access our services through a GP referral and mental health plan.
  4. If your employer does not have an employee assistance program, but you do not want to get a GP referral, you can become a self referred client without getting anyone else involved.

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE COUNSELLING - employers and insurers

Employee assistance counselling

For employers

Welcome! You have taken the first step to a healthier and more productive workplace. Employee wellbeing is crucial to the success of your organisation, and the costs of poor wellbeing are well documented. Early intervention is certainly better for your people, and your financial bottom line.


Counselling fees are $220 per 50-60 minute session. We need written confirmation that your organisation will pay for the counselling services. This can be completed using the confidential contact form.

If your organisation is likely to have more referrals, a standing offer arrangement can be created. This is where as your preferred supplier we tailor a package and rate to suit your organisation. In the meantime, some food for thought:

  • A benchmark for employee assistance counselling services is a minimum of 3 sessions for an employee per year, and an additional 3 if recommended by the provider.  
  • It is becoming more common for employers to allow employees to choose their mental health provider. This is especially important given the therapeutic relationship is critical to positive client outcomes. 
  • Employees prefer to preserve their confidentiality. We can establish an arrangement where they self-refer (within the guidelines of your assistance program) and we send you the invoice without identifying them.

For workers compensation insurers

Peacemaker Psychology has approval to provide telehealth psychology services for workers compensation in Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria. Mobile services can be provided to employees in Woorim, Bongaree, Bellara, Banksia Beach, Sandstone Point, and Ningi, QLD.
